Founders Edition cards feature dual axial fans

The next-generation GeForce “Ampere” graphics card features a dual-fan cooling solution. Both fans push out hot air from the cooling solution, but one is located on the reverse side. The PCB extends two-thirds of the way along with the card. The leak prompted NVIDIA to start an investigation into the company’s manufacturing partners, BYD and Foxconn.

The dual-axial fans on the Founders Edition NVIDIA 3000 graphics cards work in tandem to dissipate heat. The rear fan, located near the GPU, pulls air from the bottom of the card. The front fan, located on the top, exhausts the air out the top of the system. Both fans are controlled via the Dual Bios switch. The Dual Bios switch allows for customization of the default performance profile.

A new GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition card is cooler than previous-generation cards. The GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition’s dual-axial fans are much quieter.
